Dr. Mona Shah is BSc (Occupation Therapy) from Seth G S Medical College-KEM Hospital with 7th Rank in the University. Her dissertation study work was on Down’s Syndrome. Additionally, she has MA (Clinical Psychology) from IGNOU. She is also a qualified craniosacral therapist and is a registered member of All India Occupational and Rehabilitation Association, POSAT (physio, occupational, speech therapist association), PAMOT (Physical agents modalities for occupational therapy). She also has completed a dietician course from L M Fitness & Nutrition academy to aid her in her professional practice. To hone in her skills Dr. Shah has attended many certified courses like ‘Sensory processing disorder’ by Carol Kranowitz (USA), ‘The other end of autism spectrum’ by Timothy Kowalski and ‘Spine and its care’ by Dr. Hinglekar of Aswine Bake Institute. Currently, she is Head of Physiotherapy and Rehab Centre at MRC-KHS where she has initiated various programmes like: Adult physiotherapy clinic where patients are evaluated and exercises offered on individual basis including home visits for those unable to attend the clinic. ANSHU, a rehabilitation programmer for special challenged children of all age group under the guidance of Dr. Maya Nanavati which addresses physically as wells mentally challenged children with the help of physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, special educator and child psychologist. Dr. Shah is interested in social programmes in the service of the community. She is the past president of the Rotary Club (Juhu Beach Branch) and a committee member of Diabetes Awareness of Women’s Health of Diatrict 3141.
